Spritz a tiny amount of DeOxit electronic cleaner into the socket holes and then plug and unplug the tube several times. Remove the tube and wipe up excess cleaner with a paper towel. Blow out the socket holes with compressed air or a plastic straw. This early '60s Newcomb AV-10 has an ultra linear single ended 6BQ5 amplifier that makes 78s sound wonderful, especially the hi-fi recordings of the '50s. This '47 GE model 14 has the first variable reluctance cartridge. It's not as good on the high end as the Newcomb but it makes 78s sound as smooth as silk.
