It was created by the Witch of Izalith, who summoned a firestorm to exterminate the ancient dragons and their Lord Souls, but was consumed by the Flame of Chaos. The Flame of Chaos then molded her body into a tree-like creature that produces Demons. The player can learn more about this lore and other Dark Souls bosses in this article. The Bed of Chaos was always easy though, the gripe people had with it was moreso that narratively, this fight is very anticlimactic. Second Demon Ruins bonfire through the bridge with the white Titanite Demon. Same thing, but going from the Daughter of Chaos bonfire through the elevator and falling to the Demon Firesage's Arena.
