Well, here is the box I designed and built that allows for full midgate functionality. It is permanately installed and does not have to be removed to use the midgate. Removal would require unbolting the rear seat and lifting it up to get it out, "good theft prevention." I used a JL Audio 8" subwoofer, I believe it is a 8W0 model, 4 ohm.Remove the midgate glass. Push down on the button in the center of the cross bar. This will allow the midgate to be lowed without the latch reinforcement cross bar. Refer to the illustration above. Remove the latch reinforcement cross bar from the vehicle. Turn the handle clockwise as seen in the illustration above.
